Security Deposits and Other Connection Charges

New Service Connection Charges

After approval of a new SNGPL connection case, the applicant may receive a demand notice covering connection-related charges, service work, and security deposit where applicable.

Consumers should review the demand notice carefully and pay it within the allowed time so the application does not stall.

Security Deposit

Security deposit helps support account-level risk management and may be updated whenever a connection changes materially.

  • Change of name cases may require account verification and supporting ownership or consent documents.
  • Premises relocation or account restructuring may require fresh review of security and service charges.
  • Succession or transfer situations may require legal proof before account-level changes are accepted.

If the account status changes, the service category is revised, or the premises details materially change, SNGPL may reassess the deposit or other related charges.

Refund of Security Deposit

Security deposit refund is generally tied to permanent account closure, final settlement, and confirmation that no outstanding dues remain on the connection.

In some cases, the remaining deposit may be adjusted against the final bill or cleared through the company's settlement process after account verification.
