Relocation of Service Connection and Temporary Supply Guidance

Relocation of Service Connection

If the existing gas meter position or service arrangement becomes unsuitable because of renovation, boundary changes, access problems, or public works, the consumer may need to request relocation through the relevant SNGPL office.

When Relocation May Be Needed

  • Construction or renovation makes the current meter position unsafe or inaccessible.
  • The boundary wall, entry point, or service path changes.
  • The service arrangement needs adjustment for a rebuilt or reconfigured premises.
  • Public works or road development require shifting of service equipment.

How to Request Relocation

The consumer should contact SNGPL, explain the reason for shifting, and provide the premises details needed for site review. Depending on the case, SNGPL may inspect the location and issue instructions, charges, or a formal estimate before the work proceeds.

Temporary Supply and Site-Use Cases

Some consumers also need short-term or transitional service handling, especially during construction, rebuilding, or phased occupancy. In such cases, the company may guide the consumer according to the relevant connection category, technical feasibility, and safety requirements.

  • Construction-related service needs.
  • Temporary site occupation before final permanent arrangements.
  • Premises reconfiguration that requires staged technical handling.
  • Any other approved short-term arrangement supported by the company.

Practical Consumer Tips

  • Do not shift or tamper with the gas meter on your own.
  • Keep the consumer number, latest bill copy, and address details ready when requesting relocation.
  • Expect site verification before work is approved.
  • Follow the official estimate or demand notice instructions carefully if charges are issued.
